Delano, Minnesota, is marking a significant milestone—its 150th anniversary. This sesquicentennial celebration offers residents and visitors a chance to reflect on the city’s rich history and vibrant community spirit.
Community Mural Project
One of the standout initiatives is the Community Mural Project. Spearheaded by local artist LeAnna Wurzer, this project invites individuals of all ages to paint 3″x3″ canvases. These individual pieces will be assembled into a large-scale mosaic mural, set to be unveiled at the Annual Community Art Show in October 2026 and permanently displayed in the Delano Public Library. Painting sessions are scheduled throughout the year, with upcoming dates in April, June, and August. No registration is required, making it easy for everyone to participate.
Delano Community Expo
Another highlight is the Delano Community Expo, scheduled for May 9, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This event provides an opportunity for local businesses, organizations, and residents to connect, showcasing the diverse offerings within the community. The expo will be held at the Riverside Commons Building, located at 10 Bridge Ave E, Delano, MN 55328. Admission is free, and attendees can expect a variety of exhibits and activities that highlight the best of Delano.
